The Skype app received quite a large update that brought an enhanced interface to everyone, but video calling to only a few select devices. Skype 2.0 hotfix enables video chat on Sprint’s Nexus S 4G. While we would sure like to see more devices, it is a start, and at least we know they are working on it behind the scenes still.
Kodak granted reprieve in its ITC battle with Apple and RIM and after reviewing the decision per the parties’ request, the Commission changed a few of the ALJ’s patent claim interpretations and remanded the case for fresh analysis regarding both infringement and validity. Kodak is painting the remand as a victory and Kodak’s infringement claims against RIM primarily center on technology for creating a still image during preview on a camera’s LCD display………..

Solar-powered laptops are nice and all for keeping your laptop charged up, but they need to be in contact with sunlight in order to work and now researchers at an Australian university are working on powering electronic devices by the action of typing or walking thanks to the electrical generation capability of piezoelectrics. A new twist on an old technological advancement might change all that by turning your keystrokes into power and there are currently no plans for a consumer-level device that would employ the technology, but the research is promising……….

Motorola has lifted that restriction and Wi-Fi Xoom owners too can access Google Videos (or Google Movies) on the Android Market, rooted Xooms are still not allowed access. Some Wi-Fi Xoom owners are reporting server errors with the service but it’s working well for others and with the application your Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM will have access to thousands of movies (some in HD resolution) for renting. Some of the movies are free, but others cost between $0.99 and $3.99…………..
