Cablevision And Viacom Resolved Issue For Live TV On iPad

Viacom sued Cablevision after the Optimum for iPad app launched and allowed cable customers to stream the entire channel lineup on their tablets. Finnaly this issue has been resolved. According to engadget Viacom’s case against Time Warner’s similar offering is on hold while they also try to work out a deal, but Cablevision’s stance from the start is that its approach fell within the existing agreements and they appear to have gotten their way. DirecTV confirmed Thursday that the satellite TV company was among many potential bidders for online video service Hulu and buying the company from its parents — The Walt Disney Co., News Corp., Comcast Corp. and Providence Equity Partners, could bolster DirecTV’s efforts to allow its customers to watch their video packages on mobile devices.
