Samsung, one of Apple’s main component suppliers, will be cutting ties with the Cupertino company over the coming year. Apple will no longer be using displays manufactured by Samsung in their products. The two companies have already had a heated relationship with patent infringement wars being formed left and right.
Apple reportedly has a minor update to its iOS 6 mobile operating-system ready for public release. This enhancement is labeled iOS 6.0.1 according to Boy Genius Report’s “reliable Apple sources.” Testing is currently in full effect with three major U.S. carriers — AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
iMac machines purchased between October 2009 and July 2011 are prone to Seagate hard-drive failure if their system holds the 1 terabyte variation. Therefore, Apple has just expanded its iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program to include machines purchased between Octobr 2009 and July 2011. This program formally covered iMacs sold between May 2011 and July 2011.
Apple is expected to unveil iPad mini, a smaller version of its tablet, on October 23rd. While that may mark Apple’s entry into the mini-tablet arena, it may also lead Apple to abandon iPad 2 altogether.
Apple and Samsung have been interlocked in a fierce patent war which doesn’t seem to be subsiding any time soon. A while ago, it was reported that a UK judge had called Samsung’s Galaxy Tab not ‘as cool’ as iPad and thus, not an infringement. Apple filed an appeal against it. And lost again.

The new car kit is specially made for present’s smartphones. Apple has rolled out three software updates to remove the Java applet plug-in from Mac OS X. Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, OS X 10.7 Lion, and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion users will be prompted to update their software momentarily.
When the web-based Reminders application went live on iCloud.com last month, it lacked an important feature: Shared Reminders. But, no more. Over the past few days Apple has rolled out the Shared Reminders feature to the web-based version of iCloud.
