Apple outages are beginning to become a regular event, as users are reporting downtime with iMessage, Game Center, iTunes Match, Facetime, and the iTunes/App Store. Last week on October 25th Apple’s iMessage service was down several hours during the afternoon.
Apple’s mapping application withstood heavy criticism across the first couple of weeks of its release. Scott Forstall, the iOS software Chief at that moment, was instructed to sign an apology letter over iOS 6 Maps for the public — he denied. Apparently Apple CEO, Tim Cook, wasn’t pleased with his actions since he decided he would boot Forstall from the position.
An ad-supported Web radio service from Apple is expected to launch early next year, noted by “individuals with understanding of the discussions.” But, the financial terms have not been finalized yet.
A verdict given by a court in UK said that Samsung didn’t copy the design of Apple’s iPad and the latter should post an admission of this fact on its official website, so as to make up for the harm done to Samsung’s repute. Apple has now done so, though not without taking a few jibes.
While many Apple customers were outraged by the pricing of the iPad Mini tablet, European customers have another reason to be mad — Apple has made some changes to App Store pricing tiers in several European countries. Instead of the base of €0.79 for an application, the lowest price in many countries has been bumped up to €0.89.
Apple recently released a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, quite as the rumors had been suggesting. The company has now released a new ad titled ‘Colors’ which highlights the high-resolution display packed by the machine.
Apple has been following the tradition of releasing a new tablet nearly a year after the its last tablet. However, in the case of its 4th generation iPad, Apple waited a mere seven months. And that has left the owners of third-generation iPad betrayed and angry with the company.
Apple has been engaged in a legal battle with Apple Corps, which is the company that owns the rights to the record labels of The Beatles. After 20 years of on and off litigation, Apple has finally reached a settlement with the company over the use ‘Apple’ trademark as well as the logo.
