Apple is primarily based in U.S. where it pays substantial amounts of tax over the hefty profits it earns annually. However, it has now transpired that outside of its home town, Apple pays puny amounts of tax. To be specific, it pays a mere 2% on its overseas profits.
Imagine the delight of a person who is able to order $1600 worth of Apple products for a mere $35. The incident is not fictitious and did actually happen to Adam Crouchley in New Zealand. However, Apple realized the mistake soon and cancelled the order for which Crouchley is now suing the company.
It has been only a few days since Apple released iPad mini, the smaller version of its mainstream tablet. However, given the immense demand for the mini tablet, it has been out of stock on nearly all Apple Stores. Interestingly, you can still order one on Apple’s official website.
Users of Apple’s fourth-generation iPad, also known as iPad 4, would face a tough challenge if they intend to repair it as its innards are made in a complicated way. The revelation came from free repair manual creator site iFixit.
In the legal battle between Apple and Samsung, a UK court had exonerated Samsung of the charge of copying iPad’s design. As a result, the court told Apple to post on its website that Samsung didn’t copy the said design. Apple did so but the court seems displeased with the company’s approach.
Apple’s trademarks have been quite a problem for the company as it has grown from a U.S.-centric brand to one with global reach and appeal. In Mexico, Apple is facing a similar problem as a court has denied Apple the right to use the ‘iPhone’ trademark in the country.
Motorola and Apple have been locked in one of the many patent battles currently going on in the tech arena. Apple has now shown some willingness to settle the whole fiasco by offering to pay $1 per iPhone to Motorola.
Google Play now has around 700,000 apps available, the same amount Apple claimed to surpass on September. That means, now Apple has to share the crown with Google.
