Apple didn’t have a senior Vice President for it’s retail division ever since Ron Johnson left Apple last year. We’ve been waiting that who will be the lucky person to get to that prized seat and now we have the answer. Apple has chosen John Browett for the position. Browett is formerly working with Dixons, which is a consumer electronics retail chain in Europe. He will quit his former job to join Apple.

Petition Filed Against Apple – Asks For ‘Ethical’ iPhone 5

A lot of heat was unleashed on Apple when New York Times reported about the poor labour conditions in the facilities of Apple’s manufacturers. Some portions of the article claimed that Apple was well aware of these. While no official Apple response has come, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO did write to Apple employees telling them that these claims were not true. But this is not to thwart human rights activists. A watchdog group SumOfUs has filed a petition asking Apple to improve labour conditions in it’s manufacturer’s facilities.

When a few days ago Apple had plans of launching iPhone 4S in it’s Beijing store, the same scalpers gathered in front of the store and created such an uproar that Apple postponed the release. Now Apple is selling the phone through it’s online store and through other retailers. The scalpers are equally efficient online too. They keep pinging Apple’s servers whole day and as soon as Apple starts accepting reservations, their bots go for it within minutes. To avoid this, Apple has introduced a new system to reserve an iPhone.

Apple Is Being Targeted In Lawsuit Over eBook Prices

Recently, Apple has become the main target in a class-action law suit. Allegations claim that the tech giant and other five big publishers have colluded in order to illegally fix prices for ebooks. The lawsuit was filled by the Hangen Berman law firm of California, pointing the finger towards HarperCollins, Hachette Book Group, Macmillian, Penguin and Simon & Schuster.
