GoogleTV Finally Rooted By Hackers

The Google TV is the first Smart TV platform from Google and was announced back in May 2010. For this project the search giant partnered up with behemoths like Intel, Sony and Logitech. Of course Google TV integrated Google’s Android OS but also the Linux version of Google Chrome browser to provide an interesting and interactive television experience. In 2011, Logitech dropped out of the deal due to massive revenue loss. Since then Sony seems to have been the one left to pick up the pieces.

Nintendo Achieves 5 Million 3DS Sales, Faster Than DS

Nintendo has taken a back-seat in the international market as smartphone devices and other innovations in the gaming world increasingly dominate the gaming industry. Specifically, Sony and Microsoft have pitched their devices with better enhancements and Nintendo seems on a rather back-step, at least on the global scale. But it seems the company is still doing fairly well on the domestic front. According to Nintendo, it was able to sell 5 million 3DS units much faster than it sold the same amount of DS units in Japan, which necessarily indicates that things are still going right for the company in Japan.

Samsung To Axe Off LCD Wing, Looking Towards OLED

Apparently Samsung is considering making a radical decision in the near future by brutally removing the liquid crystal display (LCD) flat screen business, which has caused the company a whole lot of loss and heartache. Even if Samsungs LCD-s always got better reviews than Sony’s, Samsung is seemingly interested in the technology of the future, and is looking to get rid of the past. 95 Percent Of All Mobile Phone Profits Go To Apple And Samsung

This may sound unbelievable but it is very true. Of the total profits earned by mobile companies in the fourth quarter of 2011, nearly 95 percent was grabbed by Apple and Samsung. In fact, Apple grabbed nearly 80 percent off all profits, leaving Samsung with a tiny 15 percent in comparison. The traditional technology giants, Nokia, RIM and Motorola are quite squeezed in their profits and from the looks of it, are barely surviving the fight put on an all new level by Apple and Samsung.
