Last week, we saw a US judge deny Apple’s request to have four Samsung devices banned in US. According to the judge, there was no evidence that such an injunction would save Apple from any major damage. Apple lawyers had said that they would appeal against this ruling. And now they have.
It has been a tradition by Apple to introduce different kinds of free gifts for it’s users every Christmas. Going with this tradition, Apple will be launching ’12 days of Christmas’ from Dec 26 to Jan 6. The offer will be available for users of certain regions and is not currently for the US users.

According to a fresh research, Apple is steadily increasing it’s share in the US cellphone market. From last quarter’s 1.3 percent, Apple is now up to 10.8 percent in this year and that’s a huge, huge increase. However, Android users are also on the rise in the largest global cellphone market – largest in terms of revenue volume.
As the legal battle rages on between Apple and Samsung, Apple may be in for a set-back in it’s home-ground, US. In a case filed by Apple against Samsung over alleged patent violations, the judge has rejected Apple’s request and has refused to ban Samsung’s smartphones and Galaxy Tab tablets in US. However, Apple has vowed to continue with it’s legal efforts against Samsung.

Apple seems to have a high ground over Samsung in German. In an earlier case filed by Apple against Samsung, accusing the latter of copying iPad 2’s design, Apple was able to grab a win. The court ruled in favor of Apple and place a permanent ban on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. However, Apple doesn’t seem satisfied. Yet.
Till now, we knew that the war for mobile phone market share was limited between the OS developers and mobile phone makers. The biggest players in this war were Apple, Google, Samsung and the distressed angel Nokia. But a recent report, appeared in Telecoms.com, suggests that there is also an elite group of players who works also as catalysts in this war – the telecom operators. But it seems, though the users are in love with iOS based Apple iPhones or Android based Samsung Galaxy phones, the operators are in favor of the emergence of a new player in the market which can corner these two players, Apple and Google. And, their only hope is Nokia.
