Joyful Frog Digital Incubator (JFDI) is an entrepreneurship accelerator based in Singapore and the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The incubator aims at helping entrepreneurs take their start-ups from concept to early-stage within 100 days. In its fresh batch, JFDI has signed up ten teams of entrepreneurs from around the globe.
A total of 321 teams applied while only ten teams were finalized at the end. The program invites founders and innovators from around the globe to come together in Singapore and take their ideas from basic concept to early-stage development. The finalized teams hail from Canada, France, India, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand,Vietnam and the U.S.
Over the course of 100 days, these teams will elaborate on their concepts and ideas and then turn into reality. At the end of the 100 days, early-stage investors will be invited to watch the demo of their startups.
At the start of the 100-day period, each team will be provided with $11,700 in cash together with work space, technical help and other resources from JFDI. In exchange, the team will relinquish a small equity stake to JFDI.
The projects that have been finalized are very promising and some of them go on to explore innovative uses of technology. Skimbl, for instance, envisions a feedback system for food and hospitality businesses. Healint is another impressive new venture that aims to help patients make informed and intelligent health-case decisions.
