LM Ericsson is one of the leaders in the field of wireless infrastructure. The company has a number of highly valuable wireless patents to its name and has now claimed that Samsung has infringed its patents, filing a lawsuit against the South Korean electronics maker.

Samsung recently included the new iPhone 5 in its lawsuit, and now, Apple has requested the court to include six more Samsung devices to its own lawsuit.
Recently, Apple and HTC have struck a deal regarding their patent disputes. After that, Samsung filed with the court that Apple should reveal the details of the deal since it may be relevant to the former’s litigation against the latter. The court has now ordered Apple to comply with Samsung’s request.
Despite the $1 billion verdict against it, Samsung seems adamant to continue the legal fight against Apple. Apparently as a sign of this, Samsung’s CEO Shin Jong-kyun has now remarked that without making use of Samsung’s wireless patents, Apple couldn’t have created iPhone.
After nearly two years of patent battles, Apple finally reached a settlement with HTC recently, including a patent licensing deal. Samsung is now legally persuading Apple to reveal the details of the deal. The licensing terms in this deal can persuade the courts to remove a sales ban on Samsung’s products.
The Court of Appeal of England and Wales has ordered Apple to pay the legal fees of Samsung incurred by the latter in the iPad patent infringement lawsuit filed in UK. The order came after Apple disobeyed the court by postinga ‘false and misleading’ apology notice in its UK website.
