Visa’s mobile application allowing payments with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology gain more grip in the smartphone market. Handsets from Samsung, LG and Research in Motion (The Samsung Galaxy SII, LG Optimus NET NFC, Blackberry Bold 9900, Blackberry Bold 9790, Blackberry Curve 9360 and Blackberry Curve 9380) were added to the list of Visa compatible devices.

There have been a lot of rumours that Apple was trying to acquire Anobit Technologies, an Israeli company. Anobit Technologies produces flash-memory drive, both for iPhone and iPad. In this latest update, Apple has confirmed that it has acquired the company. Steve Dowling, a spokesperson for Apple, said that he couldn’t disclose the plans of Apple regarding Anobit. It has been estimated that Apple sealed the deal at about $400 – $500 million.

Buzzfeed, the website which aggregates viral content on web, has raised a whooping $15 million C round. The fundraising was led by New Enterprise Associates. The website was originally co-founded by Jonah Peretti, who is also the co-founder of The Huff-Post. So far, the website has been concentrating on content aggregation of viral content around the web. However, it intends to use the funds to concentrate more on the social and editorial aspect.
