When social games on Facebook started gaining traction, Zynga was the company that spear-headed the wave. After hitting the peak of popularity, however, the company has been on a downward spiral. Now, the head of Xbox at Microsoft, Don Mattrick, is quitting his position to assume the role of CEO at Zynga.

Zynga, the company that rose to the epitome of success in the social gaming arena arm in arm with Facebook's rise, has been in troubled waters for quite some time. Already with its stock touching the bottom and forced to lay off employees, Zynga has also shut down 11 of its social video games by now.

Anonymous Hackers Are Angry Over Zynga’s Lay-Offs

Zynga recently laid off a number of its employees in a manner that can, at best, be called unprofessional. Apparently, that has pissed off hackers hailing from the hacktivist group, Anonymous, who have now warned company that they may release its as yet unreleased games and other confidential documents.
